Description
The most welcoming Apostle Islands kayak tour in our lineup. Chequamegon Bay sits in the shallow protected water of the east side, where the surface stays glassy even when the open lake builds up swell. The route loops you past three sandstone sea caves and the iconic Sea Stack, a freestanding pillar of rock that doubles as a cliff swallow nesting colony.
This is the right tour for paddlers who have never been in a kayak before. The bay is shallow enough to stand up in for most of the route, the wind has very little reach, and our guides handle all the technical work so you can focus on the scenery. Eagles overhead, agates glinting in the shallows, and the occasional autumn otter are all part of the experience.
